Play and Creative Arts Psychotherapy for children aged 4-12

Sometimes children struggle to put their feelings into words. Play therapy offers a gentle and supportive way for children to express themselves, make sense of their experiences, and feel understood.

What is Play Therapy?

Play therapy is a well-established therapeutic approach that uses play and creative expression to help children explore and process their experiences, thoughts and feelings.

Rather than relying on talking alone, children are able to communicate in ways that feel natural and comfortable to them - through play, creativity and metaphor.

There is no pressure to talk or explain. Instead, they are supported at their own pace to explore what they need to, in a way that feels safe and manageable.

Through this process, children can begin to:

  • Understand and express their thoughts and feelings

  • Build confidence, self-esteem and self-awareness

  • Develop coping strategies for challenges

  • Strengthen emotional resilience

My Approach

I work from a child‑centred approach, where the child leads and I follow.

This means that children are given the time, the tools and the opportunity to express themselves in their own way, while I provide a warm, attuned and supportive presence, reflecting narratives and feelings to help them gain insight.
